Kernans are a large Donegal based retailer who operate, grocery stores, cafes & bistros, petrol stations and more. Kernans brand icon was inspired by thieir early beginnings as a bicycle shop in the 1920s, the circular shape in the centre of the Kernans brand icon represents the hub a bicycle wheel. In those days, it was bicycles that helped connect communities, facilitating people traveling from one place to another with ease.

Nowadays Kernan’s help connect people through their retail enviornment, creating a community hub where everyone feels they belong. The bicycle and hub went on to become the inspiration behind Kernans new identity through the use of brand letterforms, patterns, signage & more.
